Living simply...

That is all I want.
That is all Nath wants.
And all we want for our children.
A simple life, with simple desires.

But it is hard.
Certainly much harder than it sounds.

I ask Nath "What are your TOP 5 dreams?"
He only has 2:
A happy family and home.
Financial security.

Mmmm.... sounds easy.
Its not *easy*
Life is busy, complicated, demanding...
However, it is not impossible to create a simplier life... of peace and tranquility, of quiet and ease.
Contentment and happiness for who you ARE (not what you *do*)...

It is true that because something is "simple" does not mean it is "easy"
The simpliest and purest things come with hard work.
And persistance, and mindfulness of what is really important.
*FOR YOU* and that is not the same for each person.

Manifest plainness,
Embrace simplicity,
Reduce selfishness,
Have few desires.

Lao-tzu, The Way of Lao-tzu Chinese philosopher (604 BC - 531 BC)

That is what I am doing at the moment..... stripping my life down.
Making it simplier.
And easier.

This is *my* life.
The way I live it is entirely up to me.

I SO LOVE THAT.
The power of choice.

A busy life... or a simple life.
I know my preference, as *hard* as that may seem to achieve sometimes.
Choose. Or perhaps it is just all about attitude?
What you consider easy or difficult... is a choice.

And here is some simple fun:

Your Theme Song is Beautiful Day by U2
"Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away"

You see the beauty in life, especially in ordinary everyday moments.
And if you're feeling down, even that seems a little beautiful too.

Peace and Love out....

blessed be to this honey! HO!

i deeply agree with all you are saying... and simplicity is amazing...

it means saying NO to somethings
so you can say YES to simplicity

sometimes i want to be it all and do it all, but it drains me, and i just want time out to be in the house with my lover and our little family of us and charlie...

best moments of my last 24 hours was making dinner last night in the kitchen with the windows broad open, the spring breeze coming through, cooking up and transforming these beautiful vegetables into nourishing food. cooking has come to be like soul work, i remain in the moment, and hum under my breath, and bless each piece of food mindfully, keeping conscious that i am pouring love into this food so we may take it into our bodies and nourish it inwardly.

so good talking with you today bec, i think we are both doing such big soul work in our lives, i totally honour your choices and your sharings.

love (authentically),
ha ha ha,
Leonie
your circle sister

Leonie
I totally honour you!
And your truth.
Without authenticity... its just words.
Talking the talk, not walking the walk.
We are *way* beyond that.
Circle sister indeed.
Big squishy hug to you!

Cute Bekky
I think my theme songs ROCKS!!

***Your Theme Song is Back in Black by AC/DC***

"Back in black, I hit the sack,
I've been too long, I'm glad to be back"

Things sometimes get really crazy for you, and sometimes you have to get away from all the chaos.
But each time you stage your comeback, it's even better than the last!

Some of my closest friendships here at home are women over 65. I love their wisdom and the honest truth they feel a right to speak. I do a lot of listening and a theme has been formed in my life through all of their stories...

"Gold is refined in the hottest fires, but the results are so beautiful."

How does this relate to what you are saying? All gold needs is fire, nothing else, just fire and it becomes pure.

Life can be as simple as we make it as far as our routines, but the uncontrollable parts of life are the tough part...the fires...and here, yes, is where our attitudes come in. We can fight the fire, or simply let it purify us...and this entire process makes us all so very beautiful and unique.

I love you bek...and soooo honor your musings today...

I need to think about that theme song thing? I don't have one and I want one...Hmmmmm?

hugs xxxd

Susannah... the elusive state ~balance~. Can one be an *artist* AND be balanced? I dunno. I try too. But I find making things simpler helps. Even just the amount of "stuff" I have. When I minimise ~ I feel better~...

Dar...thanks sweets I agree that in our lives we are exposed to many difficult experiences... and it is our attitude that defines us. How we deal with those experiences shapes our character, not the experiences themselves.
I love you too!
